Hull Rape Crisis saved after local PCC provides additional funding for two years

The centre in Hull which helps victims of sexual assault in Hull has been saved from closure.
Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Grove has stepped in to help The Hull Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Service.
The centre was set to close and staff were given redundancy notices after The Ministry of Justice reduced its annual funding from £30,000 to £20,000(*).
After hearing about its plight, Mr Grove has agreed to provide £10,000 per year for the next two years from savings he has made in his own office – securing the future of the service until 2016.
