The Independent Advisory Panel on deaths in custody has published the results of its rapid evidence collection on preventing the deaths of women in prison. The report makes a number of recommendations for improvements in the community; in prison; mental health; transfer of information; family contact; and preparation for release. The recommendations also make specific reference to investment in women's services in the community, and domestic violence service provision both in the community and in custody.
