Preventing the Deaths of Women in Prison

The Independent Advisory Panel on deaths in custody has published the results of its rapid evidence collection on preventing the deaths of women in prison. The report makes a number of recommendations for improvements in the community; in prison; mental health; transfer of information; family contact; and preparation for release. The recommendations also make specific reference to investment in women's services in the community, and domestic violence service provision both in the community and in custody. Read the full report: Preventing the Deaths of Women in Prison
